MiSTer Laggy – Display Latency Tester

MiSTer Laggy – Accurate display latency testing, made for retro gamers.

Combines a dedicated MiSTer core with a light sensor via the User I/O Port to deliver precise input lag measurements. It flashes test patterns on screen and measures latency at the top, middle, and bottom — displaying real-time min, max, and average values.

Compatible with A/V Pro 9.2 MiSTer Analog I/O v6.1, Digital I/O v1.2, Ultimate MultiSystem, or Jammix I/O Rev.2 and newer.

Retro games often demand frame-perfect timing. MiSTer Laggy helps identify latency issues caused by modern displays (LCD, OLED), which can introduce delay due to processing steps like scaling and motion smoothing — unlike near-instant CRTs.
